The information in the following Security Bulletin should be
acted upon as soon as possible. Hewlett-Packard Company will

from customer's failure to fully implement instructions in this

PROBLEM: 1. Specially crafted packets sent to the listening TCP
port of certain NNM processes may cause a memory leak.
2. Specially crafted packets sent to the listening TCP
port of certain NNM processes may cause the processes
to consume excessive CPU resources.
IMPACT: In each case the potential impact is a remotely triggered
denial of service.
**REVISED 01**
PLATFORM: Microsoft Windows NT4.X / Windows 2000
running NNM 5.02, 6.01, 6.10, 6.20, 6.31, 6.41.
--> NNM 7.0 is NOT affected
--> Note: The original version of this bulletin
--> listed patches for HP-UX and Solaris.
--> However, the HP-UX and Solaris versions
--> of NNM are not vulnerable.

that the fix is completely implemented in a patch with no
