Digital forensics of a image? Jul 31 2005 01:24PM
somewhere google com (4 replies)
i got a JPG file. I'm trying to trace it back to its original author of the picture ( with limited suspect of 100, but we can't GO raid their PC because its more an insider issue & don't wanna create any* buzzz)

So, I don't have any OTHER evidence to track-back, the author except this image. Neither be able to access to any other resources until i'll short out the list of suspect to a limited few.

Initially, Running this pic. through "BinaryTextScan" revealed the time in which it was created & the software USED to create it (Adobe
Photoshop 7).

Does Photoshop (or any such popular software in general) store any other further information like: OS user, any unique ID/MAC/ the author/registered to...... or "anything" ...... useful in the meta data/headers? that could give any further hint about the author?

regards,
