It depends on the requirements of the Pen Test. If it is Infrastructure based then no you shouldn't turn it off as the IDS would be in scope for this test.
If it is application based Pen Test then it is ok to open the firewalls for their IP address. I have allowed this from a reputable Pen Testing
Company within a banking environment. This is so they can narrow their focus to application based vulnerabilities.
