Perimeter could mean two things to me: Physical Perimeter Security and
Logical Perimeter Security
Physical Perimeter Security would mean implementing controls such as a)
security guards at the entrance to your office premises/building b) ensuring
your office premises has a well defined boundary wall c) ensuring that the
height of the wall is high enough to dissuade anyone from illegally entering
the premises d) implementing detective measures such as CCTV at entrances to
the building premises
Logical Perimeter Security would mean implementing access controls in the
form of firewalls, IDS/IPS at points in your network that have connections
to external parties (ISP, Extranet, WAN Links)
