I've been playing with the karma POP3 server and MS Outlook. From
watching network trace it appears Outlook only uses NBNS to resolve
the POP3 and SMTP servers, no DNS requests. As karma only provides a
DNS server Outlook can't resolve the names and so can't find the fake
POP3 server.

I've seen this before when trying to use dnsspoof against windows
machines. Has anyone out there written a NBNS module for karma or can
you recommend a good DNS/NBNS spoofer?
