I don't have any documentation that I can release that isn't already
part of MSDN. The sample source included with wlsample (the source for
this tool and a binary I built is at
http://www.inguardians.com/tools/VistaWirelessPowerTools/Vista-Wlsample.
zip)
was helpful in looking at the functionality of the wlanapi.dll, though
disappointing in that while you can enable monitor mode functionality in
userspace, no facilities are distributed with Windows Vista to actually
retrieve packet contents or to specify channel change controls.

For those that haven't read the paper, NetMon 3.2 includes this
functionality, using a Lightweight Filter (LWF) driver nm3.sys. I asked
for documentation on how to use this LWF for channel controls (really
the only thing that cannot be done from the CLI) but was turned down
(Microsoft Connect account required to access this link):

I've been spending some time familiarizing myself with the LWF
development model, and I plan to write my own nm3.sys replacement that
allows us to have open access to channel and packet content retrieval
functions. I'll post more information as that progresses.
