assuming encryption levels Jun 28 2009 09:38AM

Hi
I've been asked to take the Kismet (original) XML output and by
looking at the encryption fields say what encryption the AP is using.
I didn't think this was possible, and the best I could do was to make
an assumption. Am I right?

For example, given this:

<encryption>WEP</encryption>
<encryption>TKIP</encryption>
<encryption>WPA</encryption>
<encryption>PSK</encryption>

I'd assume WPA-PSK but couldn't say for definite.

If I am right and it has to be an assumption, does anyone have any
good algorithms for making those assumptions?

Robin
