I've actually just got done looking for a similar thing. here's the
executive summary.

SR71-USB: not nearly enough driver support to consider for security work atm.
Alfa AWUS050NH (ralink chipset)

Stable driver in tree (RT2870STA). Patch required for injection,
currently available here.

The Alfa is probbaly the best bang for the buck atm. I haven't been
able to do any long term testing
though, just got it a few days ago.
