I was wondering if anyone had come across this problem and had a way
to fix it...
I've got an Atheros USB dongle and I'm trying to pass it through from
a Windows 7 host to a Debian VirtualBox guest but when I let it
connect I get this error:
[33967.374757] usb 1-1: USB disconnect, device number 3
[33984.192379] usb 1-1: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci_hcd
[33984.586027] usb 1-1: New USB device found, idVendor=0cf3, idProduct=9271
[33984.586034] usb 1-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=16, Product=32,
SerialNumber=48
[33984.586038] usb 1-1: Product: UB91C
[33984.586041] usb 1-1: Manufacturer: ATHEROS
[33984.586044] usb 1-1: SerialNumber: 12345
[33985.031358] usb 1-1: ath9k_htc: Transferred FW: htc_9271.fw, size: 51272
[33986.028515] ath9k_htc 1-1:1.0: ath9k_htc: Target is unresponsive
[33986.028530] Failed to initialize the device
[33986.037032] ath9k_htc: probe of 1-1:1.0 failed with error -22
it shows in lsusb so it getting through just not working for some reason.
Other people have had this problem so not just me:
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/9511
but it seems like something that should work so was hoping someone had
a solution.
