Problems associated with Bonjour notwithstanding, there are more
useful functions than just discovering printers.

iPhoto Sharing
iTunes Sharing
Personal File Sharing
VNC Discovery (might be mistaken, don't have it in front of me)
iChat Discovery

Plus a few others I'm probably forgetting. Makes it very nice for
SOHO/Home Users to share services and functions.

Agreed that it should be simple to shut down and it does have it's
own set of risks when enabled.
