Regardless of the true severity or impact of this malware, as I wrote yesterday: Since there's so little in the way of malware that can impact Mac OS X, I look at these as opportunities to make sure the fuel tank is topped off, all the lines are clear of any obstructions, and the machinery is well oiled to move in case of a really big threat. (Metaphorically speaking that is.)

It's a good exercise and a good excuse to talk about real-world security issues for Mac OS X among other security-minded and interested pholk.

And a loud raspberry to those who think it's a great marketing tool or an opportunity to "nyah-nyah-nyah-nyah" that "See? Mac OS X is as vulnerable as Windows is."
