I quite agree. But then security in and out of the enterprise has been my
full time job for many years, so you probably wouldn't expect otherwise. But
I thought the point was to have someone at high level within -Apple- with a
security remit?

I did say "not slavishly copy". But despite some of the grotesque errors
Microsoft have made (still make) in security, they've done a lot of things
better than you give them credit for, perhaps because they've learned from
some of their mistakes. I suppose I should expect another torrent of abuse
if I suggest that Apple might actually learn something from M$, or even
quote Santayana...
