Apple releases Mac OS X v10.5.1 with Application Firewall security updates Nov 15 2007 07:11PM

Apple today released Mac OS X v10.5.1 with Application Firewall updates which cover the following issues:

* "Block all incoming connections" setting renamed to "Allow only essential services" to more "accurately [describe] the option"
* Resolves issue where processes running as root cannot be blocked when the "Set access for specific services and applications" option
* Resolves issue where Application Firewall settings not applying when changed to processes started by launchd (until they are restarted)

At the time of this email, Apple hadn't posted a specific Knowledge Base article for these security issues. However, Apple should link the document from their master Apple security updates Knowledge Base document:
