Description of Duties:
Provide system engineering for the structured evolution of a complex,
legacy signal intelligence collection, analysis, processing and
distribution architecture to an open, enterprise framework. The principal
goal of the effort will be to assist in developing a methodology an
architectural concept that promotes, in an evolutionary manner, the
transition of current elements of the legacy environment into an
integrated, cohesive, adaptable enterprise architecture that meets both
current and future customer and user needs. Assess current operational
needs of users and customer and assist with the development of the vision
for the future Signals Intelligence capabilities and supporting enterprise
architecture. Consider methods to extend and/or adapt legacy systems to
meet future needs. Assess current legacy data acquisition, processing and
distribution architecture in terms of customer requirements and
supportability. Identify shortfalls relative to the desired Signal
Intelligence enterprise architecture concept. Support the identification
and development of methods to integrate new processing technologies to
augment and facilitate advanced concepts for data processing and
distribution. Participate in the identification and analysis of
alternative architectures for achieving desired capabilities. Participate
in systems engineering working groups such as requirements analysis,
integration engineering, interface definition, concept development and
test & evaluation. Assist in the identification and application of sound,
systems engineering discipline and practices for development and
acquisitions decisions in transitioning from the legacy systems to a
distributed, enterprise architecture.
Skills/Experience:
Required: US Citizen, BS in Computer Science, System Engineering,
Electrical Engineering or a related field. 5+ years of experience in
distributed processing system development, operation and maintenance.
Ability to interact with sponsor and contractor personnel. Good written,
briefing and interpersonal communications skills. Familiarity with system
engineering methods and tools for system visualization and architecture
assessment. Ability to work as a member of team with minimum supervision.
Current SSBI.
Desired: Experience with DOD data collection and processing systems,
network interfaces, distributed processing, software engineering and
information technology. Experience with large-scale software development,
data warehouse systems and decision support systems. Experience
with "stand-alone" legacy processing systems, databases, data structures
and interfaces.
Salary: $70K-$120K
