Network Security Engineer - NJ

Network Security Engineer Opening.
Position is in Murray Hill, NJ or Holmdel, NJ at Lucent Technologies.
Primary responsibilities include the support of information technology
security reviews of applications, systems, and networks using analysis
tools such as Internet Security Scanner, Nmap, Nessus, and other open-
sourced tools. Strong verbal/written communication and interpersonal
skills for documenting and communicating the results of completed
security assessments to system administrators and senior management.
Secondary responsibilities include performing technical network and host
penetration tests, consultation and review of new security technologies,
providing awareness support to internal customers and serving as a focal
point for IT security issues.
Individual must have proficiencies in at least 3 of the following areas:
Security administration of the Solaris/Linux/UNIX operating systems.
Security administration of Windows 2000/XP operating systems. Solid
TCP/IP knowledge. Internet/Intranet/Firewall technologies. Remote access
security techniques and products. In addition, the candidate should also
have a sound understanding in the areas of security architecture,
security policy/standards, data encryption, emerging threats, and
vulnerability analysis. Candidate should have a CS or EE degree and
MCSE/CISSP is a plus. Programming, scripting, and/or experience in
developing client/server or web based applications is a big plus. Please
