As part of our Vulnerability Team, the candidate is primarily responsible for creating vulnerability, operating system signatures, and valuable host information for the our scanner. A Security Engineer develops the detection of all types of vulnerabilities in the operating system and third-party applications. We are looking for extensive Windows expertise. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are a must, as solutions to many problems faced in the role might not be obvious. A Security Engineer must also spend a proportion of time keeping up with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
Qualifications:
·BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
·5 years minimum relevant network & security experience.
·Strong networking background with hands on experience administering Windows applications such as IIS, Exchange Server, Active Directory, .Net applications.
·Expert level knowledge of TCP/IP protocols is a must.
·2-3 years script language programming (Perl, Python, shell scripts, etc.)
·Highly experienced dumping and analyzing various protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SQL, RPC, SSL, SSH, SNMP, etc.
·Past experience with network security products or penetration testing is required.
·Good communication and writing skills
·Experience in a NOC/SOC network management center reviewing firewall/IDS logs
·Experience with system or application programming using C/C++.
·Experience with Unix system administration a plus.
