As part of our Vulnerability Team, the candidate is primarily responsible for creating vulnerability, operating system signatures, and valuable host information for the our scanner. A Security Engineer develops the detection of all types of vulnerabilities in the operating system and third-party applications. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills are a must, as solutions to many problems faced in the role might not be obvious. A Security Engineer must also spend a proportion of time keeping up with current vulnerabilities, attacks, and countermeasures.
Qualifications:
·BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
·2-5 years experience administering applications such as web services, e-mail services, directory services, and authentication methods.
·Proficient with script language programming and regular expressions (Perl, Python, shell scripts)
·Proficient dumping and analyzing protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, HTTP, SQL, RPC, SSL, SSH, or SNMP.
·Past experience with network security products or penetration testing
·Good communication and writing skills
