Position: Information Assurance Engineer
Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2006-11-11
This Principal System Security Engineer will work in the Government Systems Information Assurance department to perform systems engineering tasks in the areas of Information Assurance (IA) and Information Security (IS). Candidate must have experience in systems security engineering, including the ability to perform system requirements and design, evaluation and certification for embedded security devices within communications and navigation equipment. Experience with NSA Type-1 certification, Common Criteria Certification for a high grade system, DCID 6/3, and/or DITSCAP certification experience is also necessary. This experience will be necessary to ensure that the proper design and analysis is performed to receive NSA certification for cryptographic devices and/or systems embedding cryptographic devices.
Experience as a Security Advocate (SA) is highly desired. The candidate will be responsible for reviewing, writing and evaluating all types of security related papers and documentation required for product certification.
Candidate must also have knowledge of Information Assurance and security engineering principles involving communications and/or navigation security, Single Integrated Operational Plan (SIOP) security, network security, computer security, key management and other areas of Information Assurance.
Additionally, this candidate will help to ensure that the system requirements are correctly implemented into the overall system architecture and will help oversee security related testing for the system. Candidate will also be involved with briefing and interfacing directly with other Rockwell Collins business areas, external customers as well as the National Security Agency (NSA) on a variety of design and security related issues.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate must have the following demonstrated skills:
1) Experience in areas of systems security, Information Assurance, Communication Security, SIOP DCID 6-3, security, Computer Security, Transmission Security, Key Management and Cryptography.
2) Experience in the analysis and design required to ensure a product can be designed in such a way that it will receive an NSA certification for a cryptographic device.
3) Experience in interfacing with and making presentations to management, outside vendors and agencies (such as NSA) on a variety of information security related issues.
4) Knowledge of Common Criteria, FIPS 140-2, DCID 6/3, SIOP or DITSCAP certification process.
5) Systems requirements and systems architectural skills with functional decomposition, subsystem interface definition, technology application and analysis.
6) Strong writing skills necessary to produce documentation required for security certification evaluation.
Candidate must hold a current U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance or have held a U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance within the last 2 years. US Citizenship is required.
