Senior Security Consultant – Top Secret Security Clearance Required

Ciphent, Inc. seeks self-motivated, organized, ambitious individuals to serve as a Government Sector Security Consultants for a number of clients. We seek a talented candidate who knows how to get things done, and will motivate others to do the same. You will work closely with our Principals to lead your team in completing high-profile, unparalleled quality projects on time and within budget.

This role requires an individual who has experience of working in various complex environments and is able to work autonomously. They must possess a methodical approach to their work and exude confidence in communicating in a logical, meaningful and consistent manner. The ideal candidate will possess intimate knowledge of the complexities and challenges surrounding the Information Technology Security area. Hands-on experience with security products is strongly preferred. Qualified candidates will lead by example, be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and experience interfacing with clients. The role requires an extensive information security skill set and a comprehensive understanding of security threats, risks and processes. Any information security experience in the Government sector would be advantageous. An active Top Secret Security Clearance is required for consideration for this position.

Scope of Responsibility

• Working within government organizations to create, manage and oversee IT Security services while adhering to security best practices, government and industry compliance standards

• Designing, advising, implementing, and integrating security practices and products

• Creating security policies

• Knowledge transfers and training clients

• Conducting network and application security assessments

• Communicating recommendations to clients in both written and oral form

• Testing and evaluating security tools and practices

• Identifying and communicating security risks to the client

• Interfacing with clients from proposal through delivery

• Establishing and implementing Business Continuity Planning

• Preparing technical designs as well as high-level flowcharts and schematics

• Developing and maintain client loyalty

• Identifying and implement improvements in existing processes and procedures.

• Coaching other consultants on new products and techniques

• Assuming responsibility for managing Team’s projects from commencement to completion

• Effectively estimating the level of effort required to develop a project

• Segmenting tasks and delegating accordingly

• Aiding in the awareness of standards and best practices, as well as enforce these standards

• Mentor other consultants and peers in new techniques, tools and other job skills.

Requirements

• Top Secret Security Clearance required for consideration

• Authorization to work in the United States

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a security project environment or 4-year degree (technical degree preferred)

• CISSP Certification; MCSE, CNNA/CCIE, CISM, CISA, CCDA, CCSA, GIAC McAfee/Symantec, certification preferred; other certifications welcomed

• Current knowledge of security threats, solutions, security tools and network technologies.

• Ability to travel as necessary

• An understanding or proficiency in information security and compliance regulations

• Working comprehension of infrastructure technologies and networking

• Understanding of software security risks and countermeasures

• Excellent time management, reporting, and communication skills

• Superior problem-solving skills

• Experience with client interfacing situations and projects

• Experience with McAfee Anti-virus/ePO, IntruShield, SCM, Citadel, and Foundstone, ArcSight, LogLogic, Symantec, Ounce Labs, SourceFire/SNORT, Nessus, Juniper/Netscreen, 3Com TippingPoint, and CheckPoint a plus.
