Position: Information Assurance Engineer
Location: San Diego, California, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-10-24
Responsibilities
• As a Senior Availability Consultant for Symantec Corporation, you will be responsible for providing on-site technical support and advice on Symantec a variety of security and Availability products.
• This includes, but it not limited to, Symantec Antivirus, Symantec Enterprise Protection, Symantec NetBackup, Symantec Security Information Manager, Symantec Mail Security, etc.
• You will primarily work with a team decided to architecting and engineering solution for implementation in customer environments.
• This includes but is not limited to Netbackup, Storage Central, and Storage Foundation.
• You will primarily work with the Backup and Recovery (BUR) team to analyze Netbackup operational issues and gather logs/debug information as part of the troubleshooting effort.
• You must demonstrate the ability to identify and troubleshoot complex network and software issues, escalating issues when necessary.
• You will demonstrate the highest possible customer service, working with the customer to get timely resolution of issues.
• Also, In addition, the role of a Senior Consultant requires developing and maintaining good working relationships, in line with the company’s core values.
• A Senior Consultant is tasked to examine, investigate, and solve complex problems, showing the ability to think “out-of-the-box” and develop creative solutions.
• The primary work location for this position is San Diego, CA and is located onsite at the customer’s place of business..
• Must possess at least five years or equivalent of systems engineering/administration experience with large, complex, heterogeneous environments.
• Must hold an Active Department of Defense Security Clearance (Top Secret)
