Position: Security Consultant
Location: Linthicum Heights, Maryland, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-12-25
Due to rapid growth, Ciphent, Inc. is seeking self-motivated, organized, ambitious individuals to serve as a Security Product Consultants for an impressive roster of clients. QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL AT LEAST 75%. We seek a talented candidate who knows how to get things done, and will motivate others to do the same. A breadth of creativity, travel and latitude is expected. You will work closely with our Principals to lead your team in completing high-profile, unparalleled quality projects on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate will possess intimate knowledge of complexity and challenges surrounding at least one of the following products: McAfee Anti-virus/ePO, IntruShield, SCM, Citadel, and Foundstone, ArcSight, LogLogic, Symantec, Ounce Labs, SourceFire/SNORT, Nessus, Juniper/Netscreen, 3Com TippingPoint, and CheckPoint. Qualified candidates will lead by example, be self-motivated, have excellent interpersonal communication skills, and experience interfacing with clients.
What will I be doing?
• Designing, advising, implementing, and integrating security products for Fortune 500 clients
• Training clients on the proper use of products, their features, and full capabilities
• Troubleshooting network problems and implements security policies and procedures.
• Conducting network and application security assessments
• Interfacing with clients from proposal through delivery
• Ensuring network security access and protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction.
• Configuring and testing security products
• Communicating recommendations to clients to improve existing security measures in both written and oral form.
• Preparing technical designs as well as high-level flowcharts and schematics
• Developing and maintain client loyalty
• Staff training and support where necessary
• Product installation, maintenance, and upgrading
• Researching and troubleshooting
• Routine network administration and maintenance
• Identifying and implementing improvements in existing processes and procedures.
• Coach other consultants on new products and techniques
• Responsible for managing Team’s projects from commencement to completion
• Effectively estimate the level of effort required to develop a project
• Segment tasks and delegate accordingly
• Aid in awareness of standards and best practices, as well as enforce these standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS

What do I need to have to apply?
• QUALIFIED CANDIDATES MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL AT LEAST 75%.
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• 4 year bachelor degree preferred (technical degree preferred)
• Minimum 2 years subject field experience (networking/consulting/programming/computer security)
• Current knowledge of security threats, solutions, security tools and network technologies.
• Familiarity with a variety of security concepts, practices, and procedures.
• An understanding or proficiency in information security and compliance regulations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Superior problem-solving skills
• Experience with client interfacing situations and projects
• Knowledge and experience with security product installation and upgrades
• The ability to teach and train about network use and software skills
• Proficiency in making presentations
• Experience with network and system security preferred
