Thanks for all the info.
The way I am doing it now, is:
1) remove some extensions (.htw, .htr, .idq, .ida)
(after performing only the 1st step I got one machine reporting the same
error in SP4 instalation, so I decided to stop IIS)
2) net stop iisadmin /y
3) install SP4
4) reboot
It works for me! ... and hope it keeps working ;)
