Windows VDM Zero Page Race Condition Local Privilege Escalation Vulnerability
Microsoft Windows is prone to a local privilege-escalation vulnerability because of a race condition in the Virtual DOS Machine (VDM). A local attacker can exploit this issue to execute arbitrary code with kernel-level privileges. A successful exploit will result in the complete compromise of affected computers. Failed exploit attempts will result in a denial-of-service condition. |
