Clever Components Database Comparer ActiveX Control Stack Based Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
Database Comparer ActiveX control is prone to a stack-based buffer-overflow vulnerability because it fails to properly check boundaries on user-supplied data before copying it into an insufficiently sized memory buffer. Successfully exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code in the context of the application using the ActiveX control (typically Internet Explorer). Failed exploit attempts likely result in denial-of-service conditions. This issue affects Database Comparer 2.2; other versions may also be affected. |
