WordNet Multiple Buffer Overflow Vulnerabilities
WordNet is prone to multiple buffer-overflow vulnerabilities because the application fails to properly bounds-check user-supplied input. Successful exploits may allow attackers to execute arbitrary code within the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in a denial of service. Note that these vulnerabilities occur when WordNet is used as a backend in web applications. The issues can be exploited through a web application that supplies input to WordNet. The issues affect WordNet 2.0, 2.1, and 3.0; other versions may also be vulnerable. |
