Multiple Vendor Dump File Locking Denial Of Service Vulnerability
Local attackers may be able to cause a denial of service by creating a file lock on files that the dump utility requires for normal operation. Attackers may exploit this to effectively prevent dump from backing up files. To resume normal operation after an attack, the process holding the file lock must be killed. |
