SGI IRIX Default Coredump Umask Weakness
SGI has reported that some versions of IRIX have insecure umask values for the root user. Specifically, the default umask for the root user is 022 and is applied to system coredumps. As the umask permits all users to have read permissions on system coredumps, malicious individuals may be able to obtain potentially sensitive information contained in the coredumps. |
