Sendmail Long Ident Logging Circumvention Weakness
Sendmail is a freely available, open source mail transport agent. It is maintained and distributed by the Sendmail Consortium. It has been reported that Sendmail does not properly handle long idents. Due to the improper handling of long idents, an attacker may supply a long ident which will result in the omission of the IP address from logs when a user attempts certain commands. |
