PostgreSQL path_encode() Buffer Overflow Vulnerability
A vulnerability has been discovered in PostgreSQL. A buffer overrun exists in the 'path_encode()' function which may allow an attacker to overwrite sensitive locations in memory. By exploiting this issue to overwrite an instruction pointer in the program, it may be possible for a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands. All commands will be executed with the privileges of the database process. |
