Dynamically allocated port on reverse forward 2010-08-16
Joke de Buhr (joke seiken de) (1 replies)
hi,

I discovered ssh option of dynamically allocating a port on reverse forwarded
connections (option: -R)

If I invoke ssh this way:
ssh -R 0:localhost:22 remote_ssh_server
ssh prints a debug message like:
Allocated port 40454 for remote forward ....
before it drops to the shell.

Is there

bind_address ignored? 2010-08-12
Jon (jonathan88 gmail com)
I must be doing something wrong or the server seems to ignore my bind request.

Port forwarding is working it just bind to all ips and ignores my bind
request. I've also tried this with an rfc1918 address opposed to a
loopback and had the same results.

Google and the archive haven't helped.

Thanks

A question about OpenSSH on shell accounts 2010-07-29
longordercook triad rr com (1 replies)
Most shell accounts come with SSH access, but the advantage of using your own
installation is that you can configure it exactly how you want. Does anyone know
if you can put your own copy of OpenSSH on a shell account and use that instead?
(It's OK if it doesn't use a privileged port). Or, failin

SSH Option files using hashes instead of hostnames? 2010-06-27
Dan Mahoney, System Admin (danm prime gushi org) (1 replies)
Hey there,

SSH allows the option of hashing the known-hosts file in order to prevent
people who get access to your account being able to jump other places. Is
is not conceivable that they'd want the same option with their options
file?

This could be implemented as an alternative to the "Host"
