I was playing with an Acer Iconia yesterday and noticed it has a USB
port on it and was wondering about the possibility of adding an
external wifi adaptor and using it for testing. I don't know what the
chances of getting Kismet or Aircrack ported to Android are but it
would be a really nice platfor

When you enable monitor mode on wlan you get mon, zeros and ones after the interface refer to physical network card, since you could have more than one. We need it so we could easily distinguish between both modes.

its all about fundamentals in networking, all network interfaces are supposed to accept packets dedicated only to them, everything else should be ignored. When you enable promiscuous mode (on wifi monitor mode) you make the interface grab all the traffic that is passing true, for that reason you ar

wlan0 and mon0 2011-04-26

Hi List,

I am bit confused about what is the difference between wlan0 and mon0?
and why do we need mon0, when we already have wlan0?

Also, when we use airbase-ng, we get another interface at0. What is
this? and how is it related to wlan0 and mon0?

Thanks,

JN

Hello Group,

I wanted to demonstrate a DoS attack in my company and was wondering
if it could be possible to do so with the Alfa Card.

I basically want to show:

1. CTS/RTS based attack
2. RF Jamming attack

I hardly found any documentation regarding these using the Alfa card
and BT4r2. Can someon

been trying out firesheep under win xp with a couple of platforms in the lab

firesheep is much less easy for the average jane and joe if you have to arp

New Meterpreter plugin for grabbing wifi profiles from Win7 and Vista 2011-01-10

I've just released a new Meterpreter plugin for grabbing wireless
profiles from Windows 7 and Vista boxes. Its fairly simple, it runs

netsh wlan export profile

to create a bunch of XML files for each profile then downloads them
and tidies up after itself by removing the XML files.

I've tested it

Hi,

I'm examining a couple of Proxim QuickBridge links and found that while
Kismet detects them, no traffic for is visible in the pcap. After a bit
of reading, it appears that this traffic may be encapsulated in some
non-standard manner and needs to be extracted from the pcap. I've seen
mention of
