Any time that you put security measures in place, you need to plan in time
to be able to debug them. Network flows can be implemented incorrectly,

Indeed, there are always steps you needed to take.

As far as my "fancy way of not saying much", I apologize if I was unclear.
I was referring to an instance where the web application I was dealing with
handed off data to a console app which then had to make the communication.
