SCO hacked in apparent IP protest

Visitors to SCO's website this morning were treated to a rare moment of corporate self-awareness after hackers apparently replaced an image linking to the undoubtedly scintillating "Extending Legacy Applications and Databases to the Web and Wireless Devices with SCOx Web Services Substrate" with a graphic bearing the rather more promising "We own all your code - pay us all your money":

Why should they get a long imprisonment? They'd hardly get a slap on the wrist for spray painting that on their building. Why should web site defacement be worse? ...

A lot of the Register stuf contains heavy sarcasm. This may have been intended as humour (i haven't read the full Reg article yet).

With SCO acting like an ass it must expect ridicule to arrive in many forms. I'm surprised they were open to wesite defacement though!...

well i don't aprove this but i can say i understand.

the were claiming rights on source codes that was open source.

i can understand if people who are working for free and putting alot of time into linux are pissed off.

if i would see part mine live work being taken away i would be pissed o...
