Shhhh. U.S. appeals USA PATRIOT loss

The U.S. Justice Department is appealing a decision that trimmed back the FBI's powers under the USA PATRIOT Act. But in a case already noted for unusual secrecy, the very fact of the government's appeal was kept under seal for over two months.

I don't understand why they just don't file it for using it on pipelines coming into the country from the outside. Why do they have to be so greedy and want everything? At least they stand a better change for arguement at that point....

It's more of a case of, "if you knew we knew", then it would put the government in a worse position to obtain more evidence from a legal prespective, since the "suspect" would no doubt cease and desist.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out... we know that the goverment needs the abili...
