Nearly a year after its launch, a federal office created as a conduit for corporate America to provide the government with sensitive information about critical vulnerabilities has been all but rejected by the technology industry that helped conceive it.

Considering the other headlines in the news, like the MPAA shutting down LokiTorrent, the prevailing "corporate" philosophy is to horde and buried information like it was pirate treasure.

Forcing the bureaucracies to run counter to their education, the same education that most people in Corporate...

Not sure if the Infragard is lumped into this initiative but I find this alliance to be more balanced with information flow from the private to goverment sector. Building the relationships between people is the key to gathering the HUMINT on both sides....

It does seem a bit naive to expect managers to let any such information out. The sort of people who become middle and upper managers would rather die than admit weakness -- perception is more important than reality, or so it seems.

I don't expect the situation to change until it's put on the bas...
