Mitnick has nothing substantial to offer the Information Security community. Because a hacker has been jailed for breaking computer laws, does not mean his opinions on computer security are valid!

Mitnick has an aweful lot to offer the IT security community. As an IT Security Consultant myself, I can say that Mitnick is more knowledgeable than many Consultants and the piece he has written for securityfocus is much better informed than the crap I read in the FT.
