Data thieves breached the systems of credit-card processor CardSystems Solutions and made off with data on as many as 40 million accounts affecting various credit-card brands, MasterCard International said on Friday.

Unfortunately, speaking from experience in the Israeli market - Most customers aren't aware of the threats posed upon digital information banks, and the consequences of such breaches. On the other hand, most enterprises do not ensure the maximum level of security possible unless they are pinned back...

In fact, customer information management or privacy are controversial because , different countries have different measurements. Even , like in Hong Kong, apart from banking, there is no mandatory rules to handle customer information. Meanwhile, regular audit should also be ignored.

Just Curious? Can my credit card statement, complete with my credit card number, be taken from my totally unsecure mail box and used to steal money from me? Why can't these statements contain only a partial credit card number like the last four?...

I dont know where you are from but in India banks send you statements just showing the last 4 digits,but you are right this should be implemented elsewhere....
