Update An undercover reporter was able to buy the details thousands of UK banking accounts, password particulars and credit cards numbers from crooked call centre workers in India, The Sun [a href="http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005280724,,00.html"]reports[/a].

The number jumps from 2000 a month to 200,000 a month by the time it gets from "The Sun" to "The! BBC".

If the bank's IT/Security systems are so poor as to allow access to this information by one individual, then the fact that the call centre is in India is irrelevant. Such a theft could just as easily have taken place at a UK call centre....

WHat is the authencity of that data....press reports say he was working in a web marketing firm. and who is that security expert verifying the information. this story has a lot of loopholes...
