E-voting worries focus on failures, not fraud

Major electronic voting machine problems occurred in at least six U.S. states during the country's midterm elections, underscoring that system failure, not fraud, is the biggest issue facing future races, voting-rights activists and technologists said this week.

Priceless assumption, since we all know that *only* Republicans engage in election fraud. What a completely baseless argument used to setup the rest of the article.

You're right, that was badly worded. The sentence was changed to indicate that the outcome only answers partisan concerns.

That still doesn't look right, are you saying that both parties agree that only Republicans would hack the machines, or that Democrats are poor losers and would have blamed the Repulicans of hacking if they would have lost, or saying that both parties agreed before the elections that only the Democr...

At least now we won't be seeing all those 'voting machines are so insecure' articles, since now the media won't have a motivation to cast doubt on the election. Voting machines are full of vulnerabilities, but better security wasn't what most commentators were concerned about. What they wanted was ...

Part of the Democrats concern was a widely reported statement by the CEO of Diebold, the voting machine manufacturer, about delivering the vote for the Republicans. While he may of intended his remark for legitimate campaign means, it was taken by some to mean he intended to use fraudulent means in ...

Funny that. In Brazil they've just had two rounds of presidential elections using electronic voting without a single delay. The result was known shortly after the voting stations were closed. In a country with such a low literacy and high poverty rate this seams quite incredible....
