More than 45 percent of Internet users put their computers at risk of being compromised by malicious code because they surf the Web using browsers that are behind the times, four researchers warned on Tuesday.

When I review web logs, I usually see 50%+ of the user agents are really bots that happen to be providing a false user-agent string. Did Google, et al. take that into account when they came up with the 45% statistic?...
