Given Microsoft's past practices, why do I believe that this is another attempt by Microsoft to drive others out of business, so that they can then take over?

As for less malware, maybe if MS built a better product there would be less malware....

What past practice would that be - breaking Netscape's monopoly in the browser? In a very short time, Microsoft has built a best-in-class malware team and their product has as good a track record as any of the established 'security' vendors, if not a bit better. For malware that is emerging or jus...

If Microsoft thinks "free security means less malware", they are really stupid. After their current blooper, the truth should be told... Their product was used to hack the US and World financial networks... The FTC, FBI and Homeland Security should Tell the American people the truth...and ask Mic...

Microsoft has proven with it's past takeovers of other services that ANYTHING they touch becomes a gateway for their own malware, without any hope of the user stemming the flow without removing the programs...and even they you need to be a fairly decent programmer to figure out how to remove the bug...

Of course with microsoft's tracking cookies as exceptions. That's the ONLY reason microsoft wants to get into the insecurity business - to block other sites tracking cookies while allowing theirs and their vendors....
