At first, I saw nothing good about the media overreacting to a root hole in BIND. Granted, it is a serious issue, but how many root holes has there been in BIND now? But since everyone is doing coverage on this new hole, it seems that many maintainers have been getting out patches for their OS's B...

At least that is the garbage that I hear whenever a new virus is created (by a unix or mac nut) that attacks Windows users!...

Phil, think about what you just said. You are comparing virus attacks with intrusion attempts. This is fairly dumb. Microsoft OS's are way more vulnerable to viruses. All OS's are vulnerable to intrusion attempts, with Microsoft OS's simply taking a leading role in security holes.

I agree. We shouldn't talk about all the security issues there are in Microsoft software, instead we should immediately jump on *nix software when something goes wrong. Do you even understand what your saying?...
