Hacker suspect to fight extradition to U.S.

An unemployed British computer administrator will fight U.S. efforts to extradite him to face criminal charges in what U.S. authorities are calling the largest ever successful hacking effort against American military networks, his lawyer said Wednesday.

I still am confused that installations like these do not employ strict security practices. They are, by nature, instant targets for hackers, crackers and the like to simple "have a go" at. I agree, its complete ignorance to punish others for the flaws in a system someone was able to exploit, if you are going to have publicly accessible systems, aka nearly ever computer connected to the internet, at least have the sense to secure it and maintain that security, otherwise when you "fall ...

Ok, again maybe completely off base, but;

The US military should be thanking this individual, he obviously had access, by their own statements and he did nothing more then explore and he made them aware that they were open.

Is what he did wrong? yes, but the blame isn't his alone, surely the milit...
