Hell, that proves pretty much India still is into child labor, doesn't it. As for the value of their required experience, maybe the ISC2 people should reevaluate the real value of this requirement.

But anyway, are dugsong, lcamtuf or rfp CISSP certified? If not, then CISSP are not the credentials...

Nothing in it though. A child who has been playing with computers since early age...has to do it.

Imagine being in company of computers instead of your childhood toys or nursery books, and you'll realise you could have done better at this age.... :)

I think it is great that he got his certification. Quite frankly, I'm a little upset that the CISSP board feels that having a teenager who is a CISSP may compromise the integrity of the certification. I myself just turned 20 and am going to take the test in April. I say good job!...

I would like to extend my congratulations to Namit Merchant.

Correction to the article: Re-testing in three years is not the only to retain CISSP certification. There are numerous activities which count as credits toward retaining the certification. They range from coursework from recognised inf...

My grandmother could pass the CISSP...and I don't think she has ever used a computer. The CISSP is filled with generally useless information that anyone can memorize. I read one book and was able to pass it with no problem...and I'm an idiot....

Namit Merchant has raw talent and brain power. Better to have him become a CISSP than a hacker. Age should not be a barrier to personal commitment and achievment. I am a CISSP and welcome Namit into our profession....

Wow, I'm very surprised to see someone at that age achieve something like a CISSP. A security firm that I work for is known to hire a lot of younger security experts (hackers),

but never someone 16 years old. If our firm knew of a 16 year old with a CISSP, he would immediately be hired and made a s...
