This is just so very wrong. He's not being prosecuted because he's done something wrong, but because he's pissed off a large powerful corporate interest. Welcome to the new world order, where what is profitable is more important that what is right.

In fact, is Jon prosecuted for having played DVD freely ?

So, why :

- everyday, hundred of thousands people use peer-to-peer softwares to upload 'tons of DivX' freely ?

- cracked-DVD player software are upload as above, freely too ?

- DVD to CD Video ripping softwares, ....

I never stops amazing me how big industry constantly wants to make their creations. If they had their way Mp3, CD-R any many other formats would still be closed formats. DeCSS was only created to make it more of an open format.
