Well he coun't have been that good to: 1, Be caught. 2, The police must have had a photo of him and were just waiting to pick him up. 3, The police were obviously looking for him in person and he must have known that the police always look at the crowd at Infosec as it is a meca for hackers!!

He was also caught in September 2000 and taken away by Police. I was present at the arrest. Incriminating evidence was found on the equipment he was using but he did not manage to hack our organisation which is very well known. I have to stay anonymous, obviously....

While not a fan of hackers I would have to tip my hat to Fluffi as he was good and his choice of targets and methods was always interesting. I?m betting someone blabbed and hence how the Bunni was caught, definitely the downside of being in a hacker group.

The irony of this (from my point of view) is that one company at InfoSec - SecureTest Ltd - were doing a hacking demonstration that featured screenshots of some of Bunni's better known hacks...moments before he was arrested only a couple of metres from the SecureTest stand. The story, such as it is, seems to say that he was *not* arrested for "hacking".

It is significiant that it was the Metropolitan Police that were involved in the arrest, rather than the NHTCU (who are exhibitors/speakers at the show).

If "hacking" charges are ever brought against Fluffi Bunny,...

As if fluffy bunny was a DDoS kiddo, otherwise he wouldnt have been caught much sooner and wouldnt have suceeded at getting past the security. IMHO, he had to be really stupid to get caught. Using something as anonymous as the internet and with tools like NAT-proxies, pre-paid ISP cards, pre-paid GSM cards and disk-scrubbers, I wonder how difficult or rather easy it is to hide your identity.

It is interesting to see that police now claim they have arrested another "hacker mastermind" as I believe this was the exact phrase they used in 2002 when the author of T0RNKIT was arrested.
