I have been sitting here trying to think of an elegant way to point out just how mistaken and foolish you are. There is not one. His legal maneuvering will be seen for exactly what it is, a poorly constructed attempt at subverting the system in a frantic attempt to either find a loophole or hopeless...

Putting ANY hacker in jail is going to cause even more serious problems. Now, any other prisoner has access to his knowledge. Who knows what kinds of people are going to learn hacking techniques from him!...

Wow! I had never thought of that before! I guess he'll just have to stay in solitary. Or gagged.
But then, hmmm, I somehow doubt that there is a whole lot of computer access in jail. Maybe all the other inmates can just memorize how to hack.
Maybe a few of them can teach him how not to l...

I agree with both of you guys. One time I was hacked and used for a DOS attack with out my knowledge. I never got in trouble because most companies wont even report a attack so that's probably why I didn't get a phone call. I think if he sticks with that story that some other hackers cracked his box...

There is a BIG difference between being "owned" (and used as a hacker's bounce), and having detailed records of over 100 networks on your system. Given the very detailed nature of the records, and the manner in which their destruction was attempted, AND the fact that the records were copied to a C...

The authorities will be much better off if they hired him. At least he won't be exposed to all the other criminals in the Metro center. And I can assure you that he has already been approached by other criminals in the center. ANd if he don't cooperate, the other (more robust) criminals will c...

I agree, this guy is clearly an idiot. You really have to be a dumbass to keep an "Hacker Journal" ! I imagine it with things like this:
Ub3r h4x:
1.I downloaded the new 31337xpl017.exe from the "underground".
2.I double clicked on it and then clicked the "I agree that i am a moron" box.
3.I e...

Actually from various reports and articles both here and abroad, it appears that he was a very skilled hacker. Unfortunately he was not as skilled at covering himself outside a system as he was inside.
He shows a complete lack of common sense, and his defense is neither clever nor effective.

1. His defense sucks, he kept and created a backup of his exploits. That will prove to the fact that A. he knew that his box was being used, or B. that he did it!
2. What is Metro centre? NOTE: i am just reading the news!
3. I could see the us gov hiring him, why not if not when he gets out he wi...

I Personally think this kid is acting like what he is....a kid. Sounds to me like this guy go caught and he is terrified of doing any time so he starts whinning and complaining bout how the system is picking on him, then he has mommy and daddy get involved. I do not know this guy so im being a littl...

-Each article you will come across, indicates Heckenkamp possessed sophisticated skills, -and highly capable of committing the offenses he has been charged with. One must ask themselves why such an individual would not take such steps to cover their tracks such as file/HD/wiping, encryption, etc. ...
