Overdue debtors beware: You may not be able to rely on Caller I.D. to screen out those annoying bill collectors much longer. You only have to spoof the number, not the name. If you send the number of the White House, the name WHITE HOUSE will show up. The name is looked up at the receiving end based on the telephone number sent. So, if you spoof my home number, my name will show up as well automatically.

I'll be happy to hold the money (trust me), but I think you'll need a better test. Caller I.D. spoofing via VoIP only requires that the spoofer use a VoIP system, not the recipient of the call.

I've been using spoofing software avaiable on the internet to spoof my friends for over one year now for about $15-dollars. The service is unessessary. As far a debt-collection tool, the true deadbeat will now send a cease & desist letter to stop the calls. If voilated they will be getting paid by t...

Under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act(TCPA) telemarketers can not block, circumvent or spoof Caller ID. There are also many state laws that may be more restrictive on which number they can transmit. Federal law provides that they must transmit a phone number associated with the company, and ...

In Australia they have to pay for CallerID to landlines (not so for mobiles). Ergo it would violate what the user is paying for, and therefore fall under the Trade Pratices Act, which would squash this 'service' in an instant......

Interesting Idea, but doubt it will do much good. If I was negligent on my bills, and saw Uncle John on caller id, and they immediately said, "This is so and so from where ever......", click....... And I'm not bre...

Orange Boxing does not match the service these guys are offering.
Orange Box only fakes the Caller ID AFTER the callee has answered the call. It has therefore quite limited use.
If VoIP is not used here, then most probably they have an ISDN PRI line, which could possibly allow them to assign a...

still wiretapping
This is a bogus interview with a law "professor" who did not make ANY arguments regarding the recording feature of spoofcard. The fact that one of the endpoints is a pstn telephone, is good enough to make it an illegal wiretap. Assuming you haven't told the other party that the call is being recorde...
