I turned the firewall off. Instead of asking you if you want to allow an application to access the internet, you have "block" or "allow in future." That's why it's being turned off, doesn't give you the option to allow....

They need to be more specific. Are they detecting THEIR firewall being turned off or all cases of software firewalls being turned off. If it is the former then there is no surprise as the user has probably taken advice from someone else to drop the Windows firewall and install an alternative vendors...

hmmm. when you install one care, it appears to turn off the firewall. i.e. Network/properties/advanced/ firewall= off. check for yourself.

Actually, that is not true. The firewall you are referring to you is the windows firewall that ships with Windows XP.
What we in the onecare team are talking about is the onecare firewall. You have to go to our onecare UI to see if you have it turned off or on....
