I agree this is JUST WRONG. In my opinion they are just preying on the poor saps that don't know any better for capital gain. (very wrong and should be in jail for this) I have one machine still running windows. This is it for me. All my machines are converting to Linux....

i see two odd points here:
- it's utterly unbelievable that a company asks to be paid to make secure the crappy software it sells; instead, users should be compensated whenever are hit by incidents caused by micro$oft neglect, ignorance or simply hopelessly wrong design;

If they fixed the problems with windows. Let the other vendors develope the security stuff. They probably would take back market share from linux and they won't be faced with any lawsuits. I am thinking about suing them for selling me a defect product then charging me to block the holes not fix them...
